Joint Encoding Project
Each of you will claim a review from The Monthly Review, Or, Literary Journal, and encode it; we will then try to combine them into one TEI document for “publication”.
Start by downloading this starter file, and putting it in your TEI_exercise/content/ directory, and renaming it to start with your initials and an underscore (e.g., SB_Monthly_Review.xml for Professor Susan Brown). Then change lines 16 & 17 to be your name and “TEI encoding of” whatever part you work on. Then add an @xml:id attribute to the one and only <div> that is just your initials. (e.g. xml:id="SB"). Then transcribe and encode your review inside said <div> (you can delete the silly comment).
We will collect all the encoded snippets at the end of the session and see if we can produce a web-publishable version.
