By reading this section, you will learn about XML linking and pointing, which occurs when one element is related to another. Examples of this include (but are not limited to) pointing to external image files, linking from text to corresponding notes, and pointing to personographic information. This section explains the various ways in which you can point to elements both within and outside of the file you’re working on. This section also contains a discussion of absolute and relative URIs.
