This slide set will teach you about how to add elements to your TEI schema using ODD customization. In particular, you will learn the function of TEI model classes—a method for grouping together similar elements. This knowledge is essential for creating elements, as it allows you to specify where certain elements can and can’t go within you TEI document. This section is recommended for those who already know a little about ODD customization (see our slide set on basic ODD editing) and are looking specifically to create new elements not offered by out-of-the-box TEI.
